Just found out their about to baptise my 14 year old boy.
by Crazyguy inthere doing this right under my nose but i just found out.
not sure what to do but would like your help on getting me wt information on my headship role and how they shouldn't be doing this with out my permission.
also would like some help on showing my son the ramifications on what happens to someone when they get baptized and how they'll expect him to treat me.

Just to warn you of a possibility. We had two young girls studying in our congregation, their parents were not attending meetings or interested after an initial period of study. They did not want their girls to get baptized so it was all kept secret and the baptism was arranged at a private home with a pool. We were told not to talk about it. That is the theocratic war technique that they justify in such circumstances. These girls were 16 and 17 years old from a muslim background (parents were very western minded, not religious really).
Both girls are out of the religion now but it caused so much tension and division in the family.
Be aware.
I know of over 20 young ones from my previous congregation that are out now. Some paid the price when being disfellowshipped at an early age. It is awful the guilt that is heaped upon them to stay or return if they have left.
The video on youtube with the young collage girl explaining why she is not a Jw any longer would be good for your son to see, it is a young person talking to other young people, hard to ignore the message she is getting across.
All the best

I do not know if this will help you Ata crossroads but if I could relate how my husband handled his leaving it may give a few cues for your husband.
When he decided he was not going back, he took his elder's book and kh keys and went to the meeting. He spoke with the elders and shook their hands and said that he would not be coming to any more meetings. He told them very clearly that he would never discuss his reasons for not attending and that he did not want to receive any visits. He wished them all the best and walked out. End of story. He has kept that stance every time someone has knocked on the door (only three times in 8 years). I think the elders were completely taken aback and had no idea how to handle the situation as my husband was very active, very well liked and one of the most approachable elders they had on the body. I think in the slang terminology they were "gobsmacked"...
So if your husband sticks to his guns, keeps his head level and really is consistent he will come through this. He has the added burden of family to deal with but I think if he is just as adamant with them he just might get the point across that he is in charge of his own life, not them.
All the best to you both xx

When I woke up I gave my husband time to find out what he would do. He took two weeks and then told me he was finished with the religion. He was a very active elder at the time. It was a shock but I knew he loved me more than the religion.
Go slow, respect what he said and be happy around him.

when i've started studying the bible when i was 13 one of the first subjects i was teached was about genesis.
the first two humans were supposedly perfect which by bible's means it meant that they couldn't die nor get ill. this meant that at least humans couldn't get diseases.

Grew up in that congregation, it was there that a special pioneer/elder aged about 55 turned my face to kiss me full on the mouth as I was getting out of his car after getting a lift home from service. I was 14 and so terrified to tell anyone and felt I had done something wrong. -

Give Blood!
by Laika inlooking for a way to stick two fingers up to the watchtower and do something useful?.
well, ever considered giving blood?
if you're eligible to do so i would encourage everyone here to go for it, the world needs more blood donors, it's always nice to help out and given our history i find there's something very enjoyable about it.

Years ago when I was still in the Jw's I signed an organ donor card, even my easy going husband raised his eyebrows. I told him it was my business and if I was prepared to accept a donor organ to save my life the least I could do was to reciprocate with mine if I die. Last weekend I signed up for a blood donor program and should hear from them soon as to when I can donate. Feels good.
